《围炉夜话》儒家通俗读物，是明清时期著名的文学品评著作，对于当时以及以前的文坛掌故，人、事、文章等分段作评价议论。这本书是作者王永彬“于清·咸丰甲寅二月，于桥西馆”的 “一经堂”完成的。作者虚拟了一个冬日拥着火炉，至交好友畅谈文艺的情境，使本书语言亲切、自然、易读，并由于其独到见解在文学史上占有重要地位。《围炉夜话》分为221则，以“安身立业”为总话题，分别从道德、修身、读书、安贫乐道、教子、忠孝、勤俭等十个方面，揭示了“立德、立功、立言”皆以 “立业”为本的深刻含义，与《菜根谭》、《小窗幽记》并称处世三大奇书。
