- Jun 2: The news and politics show Breaking Points has returned to Supercast. The show had originally joined Supercast in September 2021, when we reported it added 10,000 subscribers in just two days. There's no indication of why they left the platform. Supercast is now part of Red Seat Ventures.
- May 28: Supporting Cast claimed yesterday that it was the first podcast subscription platform to deliver gated, subscriber-only podcast video on Spotify. Competitors Supercast beg to differ: they claim Supercast has had creators publishing gated video on Spotify since April 27th. The upshot of all of this is that we now have twice the opportunity to offer video as a paid-for upsell (on Spotify).
- May 27: LATER: They're not first, say competitors Supercast, who say they have had creators publishing video using Spotify’s Distribution API since April 27th. That service is now fully rolled out for all Supercast creators. We're happy to make that clear.
- Apr 3: Red Seat Ventures has launched its own invitation-only podcast hosting company, called Speakeasy. It offers hosting, ad-supported monetization, AI-powered analytics and support for RSS, HLS and video. It also integrates Supercast, the membership platform acquired in February.
