- Nov 26: Last week, Riverside launched podcast hosting as a free service for its customers. This week, Patreon launches RSS-based podcast hosting for its users. You can “insert previews of your paid episodes in your public RSS feed to help more listeners discover and upgrade to your paid membership”. The announcement - podcast hosting is item #5 - suggests it won’t work with podcasts that use dynamic ads (we’d think that’s referring to the import tool).
- Nov 20: Riverside announced the launch of its podcast hosting product, which we covered in August. As we noted then, the service offers no support for transcripts or for direct Spotify video uploads. Podcast hosting, for one show per account, is included in all plans.
- Nov 10: Stephen Robles has left Riverside, to become a full-time YouTuber. And a full-time podcaster, of course, as co-host of Primary Technology, as well as running the Shortcuts Community. Congratulations, Stephen!
- Oct 24: How much do YouTubers make? Stephen Robles should know; and he’s written a piece on Riverside about it.
- Oct 1: Riverside launched “chat-based editing”. The tool allows you to make edits just by asking. Riverside’s Kendall Brietman is the guest in The Podcast Superfriends today to explain more. Riverside has also integrated AI video generator VEO 3.
