- Dec 17: Data: Podimo has released the 2024 Global Trend Report, which looks into differences in podcast consumption across the world. True crime shows have quadrupled in popularity in Spain in the last year, especially with women; but in Norway, men are increasingly keen on history podcasts. In Denmark, 27% of listeners have spent more than three hours straight during a single day consuming podcasts or audiobooks.
- Oct 3: Subscription podcast company Podimo has acquired Podads, one of Denmark’s leading podcast agencies and advertising platforms. It’s part of a strategy for a hybrid subscription and ad-supported model.
- Aug 26: Subscription podcast company Podimo has acquired Tonny Media, a Dutch podcast production house. Podimo also own Netherlands company Dag en Nacht Media, and the company is now making profit in the country, according to today’s announcement.
- Mar 20: The annual Finnish podcast survey has been published by Norstat for Podimo. The study shows an appetite for more erotic content, and one of the top three specific places to listen to podcasts was the sauna. Apart from confirming the stereotypes, 62% of podcast listeners said they would be willing to pay for them, a figure which has increased from 49% last year.
- Jan 22: In Mexico, Podimo has formed a strategic alliance with content marketing company Troop, which will operate Podimo in the region.
