- Mar 10: Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast has made the leap to Spotify video. The show will now post weekly video episodes on Spotify - with a no-holds-barred take on culture with relatable witty conversations featuring an all-star comedy line up. It was with Audioboom; it's now hosted with Megaphone.
- Mar 5: Congratulations to iHeart’s Spreaker, Voxnest and Triton Digital, as well as Audiorella, who all achieved IAB Podcast Measurement Guideline v2.2 compliance today. iHeart’s Omny Studio gained certification at the end of last month. That means that IAB certification is now up to date for all major participating podcast hosts. Spotify for Creators stopped participating in Apr 2024, though Spotify’s enterprise host Megaphone recertified in Aug 2024.
- Feb 28: Wondering what podcast host to use? Podnews maintains a page showing which podcast host existing podcasters are moving their show to - seems, as ever, that Megaphone and Spotify for Creators are hoovering up all the shows. That said, a lot of shows making their way to Acast, Captivate, and... Substack.
- Jan 16: Before Christmas, some Megaphone customers saw a significant decrease in download numbers. “Something seems off”, one told us, “...and I can’t get a straight answer as to why.” The company has now sent a message to users saying that they’d found a bug; and that it’s fixed - affected dates are Nov 21 to Jan 13. Payouts were unaffected.
- Jan 7: After NPR switched to using Megaphone to host its podcasts in 2023, NPR itself is no longer listed as being a podcast host that is compliant with the IAB podcast measurement guidelines.. Megaphone is v2.2 compliant.
