- Dec 12: As of Saturday evening, the Chartable prefix was still in 21,585 shows (not including those in Megaphone). We know many have now been removed automatically by podcast companies. If you’re unsure, contact your host’s support team and ask.
- Dec 10: Chartable has emailed users to remind them to remove the Chartable prefix before Dec 12 (Thursday). SmartLinks will stop working too. (If you’re with Spotify’s Megaphone, you’re unaffected). We’ve a list of alternatives.
- Dec 4: Publishers using Spotify’s Megaphone will be unaffected.
- Nov 27: Edison Research published the top 25 UK Podcasts for Q3/24. Goalhanger celebrate improvements in placing for all of its four top-25 shows, including The Rest is Politics, which makes it to #2 in the country, behind the US-made Joe Rogan Experience. There are only two shows from the US in the chart. Acast hosts nine shows, Megaphone hosts seven, and the BBC hosts five.
- Nov 19: 22.7% of shows started on Spotify for Creators in January haven’t posted a new episode since the end of February - that’s better than the average, as is 20.4% for Ausha, 18.9% for Megaphone, 12.6% for Podbean and 12.3% for Libsyn. As you’d expect, podcast hosting companies with well-publicised free trials show the highest levels of podfade, including Spreaker (40%), RSS (71%) and Hubhopper (83%).
