- Sep 10: YouTube's changes to views are concerning, suggests Glenn Rubenstein from ADOPTER Media. The changes were seemingly rushed through in August, with creators given less than a week to prepare. "Sure, now it makes it look like every video has more views, but each counted view now means less," Rubenstein says, calling on all networks to commit to using the older "engaged views" metric (despite YouTube never actually explaining what that is). "Spotify testing a “skip ad” button and YouTube’s lowering of the bar are counterproductive to the growth of this industry. We need to improve measurement, not loosen it," he adds.
- Aug 13: Oxford Road's Media Roundtable podcast this week reacts to our story last week about Spotify's new ad-skipping tool. Dan Granger and Giles Martin are joined by Glenn Rubenstein of ADOPTER Media, who suggests that the button is "fundamentally wrong".
- Sep 19, 2025: ADOPTER Media has called for an industry-standard “majority-AI” disclosure for podcasts. It comes after AI-slop company Inception Point AI bragged about producing 3,000 episodes a week using the technology without human supervision.
- Jul 19, 2024: “Using AI to read a personal endorsement—unless done for accessibility purposes—is both disingenuous and unethical.” So says ADOPTER Media, which has announced clear limits on the use of AI voice-cloning for host-read ads.
