Podcast network Wondery has raised $5m in funding, and have released some demographic research into podcasting. Dirty John has achieved over 20m downloads, and is being made into two TV shows, says TechCrunch. (Here’s more on the finance bit.)

The Atlantic is growing its podcast division, and has hired its first executive producer, Katherine Wells (ex Gimlet). It’s announced its third podcast, Crazy/Genius, a tech culture show; joining Radio Atlantic and The Atlantic Interview.

Westwood One is to broadcast The Ben Shapiro Show on a bunch of radio stations, starting next week. They claim advertising slots are sold out.

SoundCloud has added a new feature: scheduled publishing. Now, you can upload a podcast and have it publish at a time to suit you. This is a feature present in most podcast hosts; we’ve covered SoundCloud’s continuing financial woes in past editions.

Spotify is funding Sound Up Bootcamp, a weeklong intensive program for aspiring female podcasters of color. It’s in June in New York NY, USA, and the top three pitches at the end of the week will be funded at up to $10,000.
