  • The deadline for the Women in Podcasting Awards is fast-approaching; you’ve until Jul 31 to submit your entries. The awards are run by the Women in Podcasting Network, to honor the creativity and dedication of women podcasters. Podnews is a media partner.

  • Adobe Podcast Studio (Beta) is now available for everyone to try. The tool, like Descript and Eddy, lets you record, edit and enhance audio right in your browser. It was in limited beta in March.

  • Captivate is doing a live unveiling of Captivate 2.5, the company’s new dashboard and some new features, on a live stream at 4pm UK time (11am ET). Captivate’s Mark Asquith, co-founder and Managing Director, Garry Aylott, Head of Design, and Danny Brown, Head of Podcaster Experience will all be speaking.

  • At Libsyn Ads, CRO Dave Hanley and CIO Trevr Smithlin are leaving the company, three years after the acquisition of AdvertiseCast by Libsyn in 2021. “As significant shareholders & friends of the company, they remain strong supporters of the business,” says CEO John W Gibbons. “We’ve crossed a lot of ground together over the last 3 years, transforming Libsyn from a Hosting platform into a full-suite, monetization and hosting service company generating tens of millions of dollars in revenue for podcasters. It’s been a blast, wildly successful, and game-changing in so many ways.”

    • Rick Selah is now CRO of Libsyn Ads. He said: “AdvertiseCast Founders Trevr Smithlin and Dave Hanley created a magnificent Ferrari; all that’s left is for our team to learn to drive it to maximum speed and efficiency to market.”
  • Alejandra Santamaria has been named CEO of LAist and Southern California Public Radio.
