• PodSpot Studios, 'Australia’s first podcast studio network’, has expanded from the Sunshine Coast to add facilities in Sydney and the Gold Coast.

• A co-operative network for independent podcasters in North East Wisconsin, USA, has been launched. Appleton Podcast Co-op is run by David Kalsow and Eric Wulterkens.

• Captivate is due to launch AMIE, their dynamic ad and content insertion tool, live on YouTube this Friday at 12pm Eastern. Podnews’s Editor is an advisor.

• Podchaser has launched “an app” - a progressive web app, which adds an icon to your app drawer and help you go straight there. (Podnews has one too - use the same installation instructions, but use our website instead).

• At Sony Music Entertainment, Yvonne Gerald has been hired as Vice President, Podcast Marketing; she joins from TIME. Monica Toribio has been hired as Vice President, Podcast Finance; she joins from Disney Theatrical Group.

• There’s a proposed schema․org type of PodcastSeries, which looks interesting. It looks like Spotify and iHeart’s individual podcast pages support it: Podnews added support for it over the weekend in our podcast pages too.

• Want a nice example of a podcast using the podcast:location tags per episode? Закат империи has it properly used, with placenames, OSM id, and latlong. It’s hosted with Libsyn.

• Podverse has switched to using the Partytime Podcast Parser, which deals well with the new namespace elements. The package has reached v4.

• Using value4value on your podcast? Want to use some jingles? Here they are.

• Resonate publish a list of things the company learnt at She Podcasts LIVE 2021.

• Outside the US? You can now get your podcast into Facebook anyway, even if you can’t play them there yourself. From Facebook’s front page on desktop, hit the menu button (nine dots in the top-right) > Pages > choose your page > and look for the Podcasts setting in the right hand side. It sends a code to help claim your podcast. (We’ve added this information to our list of podcast directories to add your show to).

  • You can now listen to Podnews via our Facebook page. (And please do - we’re fascinated to see the user agents).
