Being unable to travel from Melbourne VIC, Australia, didn’t stop Triton Digital’s Sharon Taylor from attending Podcast Movement (seen above with Edison Research’s Tom Webster). Based at Triton Digital’s stand, #RobotSharon has been dancing and making friends with many conference-goers. It’s unclear how it works with a glass of wine.

At Podcast Movement, Futuri Media launched AdMatic, a tool to “organise and monetise the world’s podcasts”. “Two million podcasts all have the same problem: poor metadata sorting that leads to mismatched recommendations for listeners and ineffective advertising for businesses”, says CEO Daniel Anstandig. It also includes automatic detection of copyright music in podcasts.

At Podcast Movement, the sponsor of the Spanish track, RSS Podcasting signed a co-production relationship with Grupo Fórmula, a Spanish-language talk radio network in the US and Mexico. (The company’s also posted a recap of day 1 of Podcast Movement).

James O. Boggs has left Apple Podcasts: his last day was mid-July. The Head of Editorial at Apple Podcasts, he had worked for Apple since before podcasting - April 2004.

Inside Radio has unveiled The Most Powerful People In Podcasting 2021: #1 is Conal Byrne, the CEO of iHeart’s Digital Audio Group. Inside Radio is owned by iHeartMedia, a fact you won’t find disclosed on either company’s website.
