  • Triton Digital has published its latest podcast ranker for the US. NPR is at #1; total podcast downloads were up 1.8%. An incomplete ranker, it measures participating publishers only.

  • Apple have sent an email to all podcasters (in fact, two differently-formatted ones) highlighting the updates in iOS14's Podcasts app that we reported on last month, some changes to the Sports category (which seem proprietary and outside of the RSS feed), and holiday submission deadlines.

  • The Daily now averages 4 million downloads per weekday, according to Hot Pod Insider.

  • A radio broadcaster in Australia, Christian O’Connell, has criticised the radio industry for being “snobbish and blinkered”, and “refusing to accept that podcasting is getting bigger and bigger and bigger”.

  • Amazon Music has released its first exclusive podcast. The First One is by DJ Khaled, a “mogul and superstar” with suspiciously neat facial hair.
