Podnews has launched new, live data today showing podcast host migrations. A first for the industry, it shows the small amount of individual shows that have switched podcast hosting company - where they came from, and where they’re went. It’s updated daily.

First look: Acast has bought RadioPublic, acquiring tools and services for podcasters everywhere. The acquisition also sees RadioPublic co-founders Chris Quamme Rhoden (CTO) and Matt MacDonald (Chief Product Officer) join the Acast team. Jake Shapiro left in September to join Apple.

PJ Vogt and Sruthi Pinnamaneni have left Gimlet Media's Reply All. Eric Eddings, former host of Gimlet’s The Nod podcast, accused the two of working against efforts to diversify Gimlet’s staff and content. Vogt has apologised, saying he had behaved “like a baby and a jerk”; Pinnamaneni said “I feel great regret”. Gimlet Managing Director Lydia Polgreen said, in a staff email, “From the moment I arrived at Gimlet, it was clear that our culture needed work, and that there were big things that needed to change to make this a better, more equitable place”.

The IAB quietly released an update to their proposed v2.1 Podcast Measurement Guidelines at some point in January for public comment. There was no announcement, and the IAB appear to have removed their previous v2.1 proposal from the web: we kept a copy, though, and have done a diff of it. It now contains guidance for IPv6 measurement, and updated US-based podcast player market share. The public comment period has already ended.
