Kerri Kolen, Nicole Morano join Pushkin Industries team

Veteran editor Kerri Kolen is joining Pushkin Industries as Editorial Director, Audiobooks. Kolen most recently was Executive Editor at Audible, where she executive produced and participated in the development and growth of Audible Originals. She conceived and nurtured a wide range of Audible Originals including scripted shows, podcasts, audio plays, and narrative journalism with creators including Billie Jean King, Jamie Lee Curtis, Devon Franklin, and Melissa de la Cruz. She was formerly Executive Editor at Putnam and Hyperion and began her editorial career at Simon & Schuster. Kolen has worked with bestselling and high-profile authors including Carrie Fisher, Jaycee Dugard, Joel McHale, Burt Reynolds, Hoda Kotb, and Whitney Cummings. She joins the executive team at Pushkin, where she will be responsible for building a new list of high-profile audiobook projects and working with Brendan Francis Newnam, VP Special Audio Projects, to shape the company’s burgeoning audiobook business.
Nicole Morano is Pushkin’s first Publicity Director. She comes to Pushkin from Penguin Random House Audio, where she was Senior Publicity Manager and guided public relations strategies for 1600+ audiobooks per year. She has executed promotional campaigns resulting in dozens of New York Times audiobook bestsellers and several Grammy Award accolades for Best Spoken Word Album. She has worked with bestselling authors such as Nick Offerman, Charles Duhigg, Gretchen Rubin, Ibram X. Kendi, and George Saunders and is currently chair of the public relations committee of the Audiobook Publishers Association. Morano will oversee publicity for all of Pushkin’s podcasts and audiobooks and manage corporate communications.
Pushkin will release their next audiobook, Takeover: How a Conservative Student Club Captured the Supreme Court by Noah Feldman with Lidia Jean Kott, on February 23. Takeover originated as a special series on Feldman’s podcast Deep Background. Tim Harford’s podcast Cautionary Tales returns for a second season on February 26, with new episodes that include guest appearances by Jeffrey Wright and Helena Bonham Carter. March will bring two new podcasts:m Double Date, hosted by Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue, and Lost Hills, hosted by New Yorker staff writer Dana Goodyear. On April 27, Pushkin will publish the audiobook edition of Malcolm Gladwell’s The Bomber Mafia: A Temptation, and The Longest Night of the Second World War.
