• Part four of Pacific Content’s coverage of Google’s new podcasting strategy: Steve Pratt unveils Google’s Plan To Deliver The Right Audio At The Right Time. Highlights are how podcasting works throughout the Google ecosystem (handing off between phones and smart speakers, for example): so you can start listening on one device and finish on another.

• Google’s search-powered podcasts mean SEO is, once again, important. There is no reason to believe that Google favours podcasts with self-hosted RSS feeds, says Gonnageek. Meanwhile, Lifehacker writes how to use Google’s new podcast player.

• A good overview of podcasting in Asia and Australia, from Steve Ahern, on the Radiodays Europe Podcast Day website. The event is on 12th June. The first speakers for the event were announced last Friday.

• Anchor have written up a look at the first week of their Cohosts feature, which finds people to record a podcast with. They’ve also edited together a nice overview of what it sounds like, from podcasts on their platform.

• Twitter should make a podcast app, argues Alex Carter.

• Author B J Mendelson has written a book Privacy: And How We Get It Back. He’s releasing it as a free audiobook podcast, The End of Privacy.

• The Undersiders is the story of eight drug kingpins who influenced hip-hop culture. It’s been recorded in binaural sound, and is available in English (The Undersiders in English), et la langue Français aussi: (The Undersiders en Français). It’s the first production from podcast company Engle.

• Comedians Paul Scheer and Michael Ian Black are launching new podcasts with Midroll Media; the company has also announced new titles this Spring for Stitcher Premium subscribers.
