Pocket Casts looking at supporting transcripts

Listen · · 3.1 minutes to read
  • Pocket Casts is looking to add transcripts to their popular podcast app, according to Ellie Rubenstein in an interview today in the Podnews Weekly Review. “We’re tailoring the UI and overall experience to make sure that transcripts feel natural and intuitive within Pocket Casts,” she told us. The app is also going to add “podrolls”, showing creator recommendations for other shows to listen to. Transcripts are also supported by Apple Podcasts and 17 others.

  • Podcast hosting at micro.blog is now available at the base $5/month plan. The bare-bones service lets you upload an audio file up to 75MB.

  • Podcast app Podcast Guru has been updated with three new features. “Smart Playlists” automatically track and update a group of podcasts as new content becomes available. There are also configurable skip buttons in the app settings for personalised control, and (on Android only for now), a new per-podcast silence trimming setting to enhance your listening experience.
