Podcast host Megaphone has been added to a number of ad-block lists. Users of the Brave browser, or the rather good NextDNS (affiliate), or uBlock Origin, are all blocking access to Megaphone: these blocks occurred before Spotify’s purchase of the company. Jack Rhysider, who hosts with them, would like to be able to use Megaphone without sharing listener data with others.

Google Podcasts, the #3 podcast app, has been updated on the web to include a 'subscriptions’ list, looking similar to the one you’ll find on your phone. You’ll find the new page over here.

A UK radio broadcaster, talkRADIO, has been removed from YouTube for breaching their community guidelines. It had been critical of the UK government’s lockdown policy. The broadcaster is overseen by Ofcom, the UK’s media regulator, and is still broadcasting in the country; it’s owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News UK.

This is great: podcasts saying literally nothing for 20 minutes. It’s fine to de-um and de-err; but removing any or all of the phrases in this video, too, would make for a better show, you could argue.

After Amazon purchased Wondery at the end of last year, the company has been buying again - this time, buying eleven Boeing 767-300 aircraft for their own airline, Amazon Air. Had they bought them new, that purchase would have been $2.4bn, or “8 Wonderys”.
