Google Podcasts adds a share button; Pandora hires; Apple removes a crypto podcast

Google Podcasts has added a “share” option, available in the menu. This allows listeners to share both podcasts and also individual episodes - so here’s a link to our podcast yesterday. The additional
episode
field is a base64-encoded version of the episode GUID (which is, in our case, also the episode’s URL). -
Why doesn’t anyone use Google Podcasts? asks the SoundGuys website. It’s actually a review of the app, and quite positive, too. We updated our Google Podcasts FAQ last week; a reminder that the player is pre-installed on all Android phones running 4.1 and above, while the app is free in the Play Store.

Apple has removed a crypto podcast, Off The Chain, from Apple Podcasts for some reason. (That will also have resulted in its removal from most third-party podcast apps, who use the iTunes API).
