Yesterday, we covered, in good faith, a story from The Verge (archived) about the launch of the RØDECaster Video S, a smaller video mixer. Six hours after publication, RØDE’s European marketing team asked us to sign a dense four-page Non Disclosure Agreement, in preparation for “a major upcoming release”. It was a trap: we discover the major release is the RØDECaster Video S, so had we signed the NDA… yikes! (We always respect embargoes, if we know about them.)

Tips and tricks
- We use OP3 for podcast analytics - and so should you. But OP3 lets you download full analytics, so you can do all kinds of things with the data. For the Podnews Weekly Review, Apple Podcasts is the #1 app in Japan (and pretty much the only one). A typical Apple Podcasts listener downloads five episodes - but a typical Fountain user doesn’t even download two. People in California download the show almost twelve hours after we publish it. And that one person downloaded every episode of our show six times.
