There were 1.7mn new podcast episodes in December (down 11.1%), says Livewire. Spotify for Podcasters hosted 30.4% of them, a new record for the company. Omny Studio dropped below Spotify’s Megaphone for the first time.

iOS 17 is now being used by 75% of Apple Podcasts listeners, according to OP3’s open data. The iOS 17 changes have resulted in, overall, a 5-6% drop in share across all shows.

Buzzsprout’s platform stats for December showed a continuing drop for downloads on Apple Podcasts, with a share of 37.1%. The number of active podcasts on the podcast host increased year-on-year by 3.2%.
