Canada overtakes US for weekly podcast listening

  • Edison Research

    Edison Research released the Infinite Dial Canada. Forty-three percent of Canadians 18+ listen to podcasts monthly, up five percentage points from 2021, which means that Canadians now outpace Americans (38%) and Australians (40%) for monthly podcast listening. Downloads here.

  • Nomination voting is now open for the 17th Annual People’s Choice Podcast Awards. In 2021 nearly 7 million listeners participated in the awards. Listeners have the entire month of July to vote on 30 categories from a bevy of registered shows that will result in 10 shows per category making the final slate to be announced August 7th.

  • July’s MIC’s Podcast Club is a free virtual event, all about how to ask your listener for money and joining the live, virtual QnA is Emma from the hit podcast 'Real-Life Ghost Stories’, and Ian from 'Cold War Conversations’ who between them have thousands of Patreon supporters. It’s on 13 July. They also have an in-person summer social coming up.
