Anchor makes payout changes

Anchor makes payout changes

  • Anchor has changed its sponsorship payouts to podcasters. Now, there’s a $10 minimum for cash withdrawls, and you’ll need to wait four times as long for your initial payments: which may also take longer to get to your bank. The changes have happened at some point since October 7 according to the internet archive, but the date on their documentation still says 2018. (These changes may, however, make Anchor less attractive to those who pirate podcasts on the platform.)

  • Yesterday, we noted that YouTube, too, contains pirated podcasts - copied and uploaded without the podcaster’s consent. Takedown Torrent LLC contacts us, telling us they find, report and remove pirated podcasts and other content from streaming video sites like YouTube and Vimeo. “Our clients have found that removal of pirated content from streaming video sites has increased their normal podcast downloads,” they say. (If only there was some way they could attract more business…!).

  • In Australia, the former head of ABC Audio Studios Kellie Riordan has launched a new audio consultancy, Deadset Studios; and a new podcast, Curveball which explains how you too can tackle life’s toughest moments, and come out on top.
