• Here’s how to get your podcast into Amazon Music/Audible: the company has emailed a large number of podcasters over the last few days, inviting them to use this link to submit their shows to an upcoming service from the company. However, you are highly recommended to submit via your own podcast host if they offer the service, especially if you’re with Libsyn, since you’ll get additional control and statistics via your own podcast host’s dashboard. Amazon haven’t responded to our requests for comment.

• The nominations for The Podcast Awards have been announced. “We have been asked to possibly run next year’s awards in conjunction with The Podcast Academy. That discussion is underway,” says Todd Cochrane, the ceremony’s founder.

• ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia has added three new podcasts to its roster, and posted audience growth figures. “Listening on the iHeartPodcast Network is up 31% since before the pandemic,” says the data. ARN uses Megaphone.

• Guy Scott-Wilson from Acast writes an opinion piece in AdNews about how podcasting is changing news. He claims it’s “the new home of investigative journalism”.

• Elissa Ratliff (ex Pacific Magazines) is the new Head of Podcasts at Mamamia. She returns to the company after nine months away.

• A twitter thread has made a number of accusations against PRX management, quoting an internal email from a black woman who had resigned from the company.

• Popular Android podcast app Podcast Addict, which we reported last week is the sixth biggest podcast app, has just reached 10m downloads on the Play Store.

• Joe Rogan’s new Dallas podcast studio is beginning to take shape. His show shifts to Spotify on September 1; and Rogan physically shifts to Texas “soon”.

Marked as “exclusive”, Rupert Murdoch’s Sun newspaper in the UK claims “BBC bosses are spending big on podcasts discussing 'filth’ — and paying for them by scrapping free TV licences for over-75s”. The show in question, Unexpected Fluids, is a sex education podcast, fulfilling the broadcaster’s educational remit, and was launched in late 2018.
