WNYC Premieres Two New Limited Series This Fall
WNYC announced today two new limited series will join the live broadcast schedule for the fall. “Please Advise,” a call-in advice program, and “Who’s Running This Place?,” a call-in politics program, building upon WNYC’s unique ability to connect with listeners through audience engagement and live programming.
Covering a wide variety of topics, including elections, transportation, relationships and personal finance, these programs will offer New Yorkers more consistent opportunities to learn from experts, ask their own questions and find new ways to connect with the city.
These series will feature new hosts, guest experts and familiar voices from WNYC and Gothamist, bringing fresh formats and fresh sounds to the station. “Please Advise” will feature a rotating cast of hosts, including WNYC’s Tiffany Hanssen, David Furst, Brian Lehrer and Kousha Navidar, as well as Jody Avirgan(“This Day”), Brittany Luse (NPR’s “It’s Been a Minute”), Nayeema Raza (“Smart Girl Dumb Questions”) and Manoush Zomorodi (“TED Radio Hour”). Additional hosts and special guests for both programs will be announced throughout the fall. “Who’s Running This Place?” will be hosted by WNYC and Gothamist senior politics reporter Brigid Bergin.

“Please Advise” is a field guide for life right here and right now in New York City. Each week, a host will go deep on a topic for New Yorkers, including how we parent, spend, work and date. One day, you’ll learn the trick to finishing that DIY project you’ve been ignoring, and the next you’ll get insight into having a tough conversation with a family member or coworker. From pie crust to painting, from the latest tech to what to wear on a job interview - we’re getting into it in real time with guest experts and guidance from fellow New Yorkers. “Please Advise” offers a New York-style spin on the traditional advice show, focused on making daily life in the city easier.
“Who’s Running This Place?” will focus on the politics of the city in the leadup to the 2026 election. America’s major political parties are at war with each other, and themselves – and New York is at the center of it all. Each week, senior political reporter Brigid Bergin breaks down the political allies, rivals and frenemies making the decisions that have real impact on your life. The show will feature interviews with newsmakers, conversations with journalists in the WNYC/Gothamist newsroom and listener calls.
“Please Advise” premieres on September 14 at 1pm, and will air on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. An additional episode of the program will air on Thursday, September 17. “Who’s Running This Place?” premieres on Thursday, September 24 at 1pm and will run through mid-November.
