Gary Lineker and The Rest Is Football Return to Netflix with New Episodes Throughout the 2026/27 Premier League Season Following World Cup Coverage
The Rest Is Football, hosted by Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, will return to Netflix for the 2026/27 Premier League season, following its breakout run during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
New episodes will air on Netflix from August 2026, bringing Netflix members the trio’s trademark mix of expert analysis, unfiltered debate, the biggest football talking points and plenty of laughs throughout the Premier League season.
Following a 40-day run of daily episodes filmed in New York during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, The Rest Is Football became one of Netflix’s hits of the summer. The series appeared in Netflix’s Daily Top 10 TV chart every day of its run, peaking at No. 1 in the UK.
The Rest Is Football is one of the world’s biggest sports podcasts, with over 7 million monthly streams.
Speaking of the announcement, The Rest Is Football co-host Gary Lineker said: “We had a brilliant time making the show during the World Cup, and the response was incredible, so it’s great to be back on Netflix every week throughout the Premier League season. The Rest Is Football podcast will continue across the week too, while the Netflix show gives us another chance to get stuck into the biggest stories.
