Acast appoints Liv Sandberg as EVP, Europe
Acast, the world’s largest independent podcast company, today announces the appointment of Liv Sandberg as EVP, Europe. Sandberg joins from TikTok and will take up the role in early 2027, reporting to CEO Greg Glenday and joining Acast’s senior leadership team.
At TikTok, Sandberg is Regional General Manager, Global Business Solutions, for Central Europe and the Nordics, a region spanning 17 markets. She joined almost six years ago to build the company’s Nordic advertising business before her remit widened to Central Europe in 2023. She was previously Head of Agency at Meta, responsible for its agency relationships in the Nordics, and before that CEO of media agency Starcom Nordics - part of Publicis Groupe - where she worked for 17 years across client service and operations. She has served on the board of IAB Sweden since 2019, was named Role Model of the Year at the Nordic Women in Tech Awards in 2024, and is nominated for Industry Person of the Year 2026 by Sveriges Mediabyråer.
The appointment brings Acast’s Nordic and wider European businesses under a single regional leader for the first time, with the company’s European market leads reporting to Sandberg. She will lead the Nordics directly, succeeding departing Managing Director Jenny Rahm, who leaves Acast after four years.
The move comes as Acast’s growth in the region accelerates. European net sales grew 25% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026. At the same time, the medium itself is evolving: podcasters now build communities across audio, video, social and beyond, and advertisers want to reach those engaged audiences wherever they are. Acast has been building the infrastructure to enable that connection, including most recently its video integration with Apple Podcasts.
“Liv has been at the front of two industry shifts already - social at Facebook, short-form video at TikTok - and she has sat on every side of the equation we are solving at Acast: the platform, the demand side and the agency. Very few people can say that,” comments Acast CEO Greg Glenday. “Europe is growing quickly for us and the opportunity ahead is bigger still. Bringing it together under a leader of Liv’s standing is the obvious next move.”
“I’ve spent my career watching new formats move from experiment to essential, and podcasting is at that same inflection point now. Acast is doing the hard work of making the medium truly buyable for advertisers while protecting the independence that makes creators powerful in the first place - that balance is rarer than it sounds. In the Nordics, I’ve seen the team earn enormous respect across the industry, including being recognised as IAB Sweden’s Sales Team of the Year last year, and that is a standard I’m excited to build from. Europe, and the Nordics in particular, has been ahead of the curve for years, so this opportunity was simply too exciting to ignore,” says Liv Sandberg.
