Lemonada Media Partners with Charles Barkley’s Round Mound Media and Justin Hartley’s ChangeUp Productions to Launch New Podcast, “So U Think U Can Sports?” Hosted by Comedian Eliot Glazer
Lemonada Media, the award-winning independent podcast network, together with Charles Barkley and Marc Perman’s Round Mound Media and Justin Hartley’s ChangeUp Productions, today announced “So U Think U Can Sports?,” a new original audio and video podcast joining the network’s lineup of hit shows. The 10-episode series is created and hosted by writer and comedian Eliot Glazer -- best known for his work both on screen and behind the scenes of the Comedy Central series “Broad City.”
Premiering this fall, each episode will see Glazer -- who knows absolutely nothing about sports -- bravely interview legendary athletes (including Charles Barkley), current players, coaches, team owners, sports broadcasters and writers to finally ask: what’s the deal with sports?
“This was one of those concepts where we immediately knew it would be comic gold. I remember audibly laughing at some of the initial script ideas,” says Stephanie Wittels Wachs, CEO of Lemonada Media. “Bringing together two of the biggest genres in entertainment, sports and comedy, definitely makes life suck less.”
“With Justin and the ChangeUp team as quarterback (football), it was Charles and Round Mound who got our project across the finish line (track). I’m so grateful to Lemonada for the chance to step up to the plate (baseball), give it my best shot (hockey), and really stick the landing (gymnastics). I still need one for golf,” said Eliot Glazer.
“We couldn’t be more excited to team up with Lemonada, Charles, Marc, and Eliot for ChangeUp’s very first podcast,” said award-winning actor and producer Justin Hartley. “Comedy and sports go hand in hand, and Eliot is the perfect host to bring these two worlds together.”
“Sports is everywhere, our culture is flooded with opinions, predictions, analyses, and Monday morning quarterbacking. What’s been missing until now is a show hosted by a personality with an almost shocking lack of sports knowledge. And we found that guy! Round Mound Media is honored to be partnering with ChangeUp Productions and Lemonada on what will be the most entertaining sports show since Charles Barkley joined Inside the NBA,” said Marc Perman, co-founder of Round Mound Media.
Producers for “So U Think U Can Sports?” include: Justin Hartley (ChangeUp), Julianna LaRosa (ChangeUp), Sofia Pernas (ChangeUp), Charles Barkley (Round Mound Media), Marc Perman (Round Mound Media), Land Romo, along with creator/host Eliot Glazer.
The series will be available on YouTube, and across all major podcast platforms, with new episodes releasing weekly.
