Flightcast Launches Automated YouTube-to-Spotify Distribution, Enabling Creators to Expand Their Audience Reach and Revenue Potential
Flightcast, the video-first podcast hosting and distribution platform, today announced a new automated YouTube-to-Spotify distribution offering. The new offering enables creators to publish their existing YouTube video catalogs to Spotify and automatically distribute new uploads across both platforms.
Creators are increasingly looking for ways to reach audiences across multiple platforms without adding to their production workloads. Flightcast’s new offering removes the manual work traditionally associated with expanding distribution, allowing creators to seamlessly turn existing YouTube content into a presence on Spotify.
Rather than downloading, reformatting, and uploading videos individually, creators can connect their YouTube account to Flightcast, then select either individual videos, playlists, or their entire catalog, and automatically publish that content to Spotify. Once connected, future YouTube uploads are automatically syndicated to Spotify.
Importantly, this creates an opportunity for creators to generate additional revenue from content they’ve already produced.
“YouTube creators are sitting on years of video that could have a second life on Spotify.” said Rox Codes, Co-Founder and CEO of Flightcast. “Spotify now pays video creators a share of premium subscription revenue through the new Spotify Partner Program. As a result, there’s a lot of appetite for good video content, and potentially massive untapped revenue for these creators.”
The new offering is designed to simplify the process of bringing video content to Spotify, with features including:
- Full catalog migration: Publish an entire YouTube video library, selected playlists, or individual videos directly to Spotify.
- Automatic syndication: New videos published to YouTube are automatically distributed to Spotify.
- Platform-specific formatting: Titles, descriptions, thumbnails, chapters, and links are automatically adapted for Spotify.
- Additional monetization opportunities: Expand the revenue potential of existing video content through distribution on Spotify and the Spotify Partner Program.
- Simplified setup: Connect your YouTube account, pick the content you want to distribute, and get your first videos on Spotify in minutes.
For creators who have built substantial video libraries on YouTube, the offering provides a way to extend the lifespan and potential commercial value of their content while reaching audiences who increasingly consume video podcasts on Spotify.
The YouTube-to-Spotify distribution offering is available through Flightcast for $100 per month.
Additionally, creators leveraging Flightcast’s YouTube-to-Spotify offering also retain full access to its broader hosting and distribution capabilities, allowing them to expand their reach beyond Spotify. This includes distributing video content to platforms such as Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, and Amazon Music, as well as making audio versions available across other major podcast platforms.
