Flightcast Expands Video Ad Capabilities Across Spotify, Apple Podcasts and RSS

Press Release · Los Angeles CA, United States · via Flightcast ·

Flightcast, the video-first podcast hosting and distribution platform, today announced expanded video advertising capabilities that allow publishers to deliver video ads across Spotify, Apple Podcasts and RSS-based video distribution.

Publishers can now upload a video creative to a campaign within Flightcast and deliver it across Spotify Video, Apple Podcasts video and RSS video feeds distributed to compatible podcast platforms. Crucially, the launch gives publishers a more unified way to monetize video podcast audiences across platforms without building and managing separate advertising workflows for each destination.

As video becomes an increasingly important part of podcast consumption, monetization has not always kept pace. Different platforms have different requirements for how video content and advertising are delivered, creating the potential for publishers to grow video audiences without being able to monetize those audiences consistently.

“Publishers shouldn’t need a different monetization system for every platform their audience uses,” said Rox Codes, CEO and Co-Founder of Flightcast.“Flightcast is built to remove that complexity. A publisher can create a campaign, add their creative and trust that it will run correctly everywhere. Publishers get to do what they do best: create great content. They don’t need to know what HLS is. That’s our job.”

Flightcast’s integration with Spotify’s advertising systems is a key component of that approach. Spotify’s video ecosystem differentiates between premium subscribers and free users, with dynamic advertising opportunities only showing for non-premium users. Flightcast’s infrastructure coordinates campaign delivery with Spotify’s advertising systems so eligible video consumption by free users can remain monetizable rather than becoming a blind spot for publishers distributing video to the platform.

The capability builds on Flightcast’s existing support for advertising within video podcasts. Publishers can continue to run traditional audio advertising against video content, with audio creative accompanied by a static visual, while video-enabled campaigns can now use video creative across supported destinations.

Flightcast has also previously enabled programmatic advertising within video podcast content, with the latest expansion representing another step toward creating a unified advertising infrastructure for podcasts regardless of how or where audiences choose to consume them.

“Every impression matters.” Codes added. “Our creators rely on us to work behind the scenes to maximize the impressions available to them everywhere their content is consumed.”

The expanded video advertising capabilities are available now for all users through Flightcast’s campaign tools.
