Cult hit comedy podcast The Aunty Donna Podcast returns to Acast in new partnership

Press Release · Sydney NSW, Australia · via Acast ·

Acast today announced that The Aunty Donna Podcast, the cult hit show from celebrated Australian comedy outfit Aunty Donna, has returned to Acast. The podcast rejoins the platform alongside The Grouse House Podcast Network, consolidating one of Australia’s most exciting independent comedy collectives under one roof.

For more than a decade, Aunty Donna has built a global, diehard fanbase with its unique brand of absurd comedy. From the hit Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun on Netflix to the acclaimed sitcom Aunty Donna’s Coffee Café on ABC, the group has become one of Australia’s most successful comedy exports.

Alongside their screen work, they have toured live sketch shows around the world, released a comedy album, published a bestselling children’s book, and created the iconic web series 1999 and Glennridge Secondary College.

The trio of writers and performers – Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly and Zachary Ruane – are joined by head writer and stage director Sam Lingham, director Max Miller and composer Thomas Zahariou, forming the creative engine behind the Aunty Donna universe.

With more than 400,000 monthly downloads and a social following of 2 million, The Aunty Donna Podcast has one of Australia’s most engaged comedy communities, reaching audiences through audio, video, social, live events and more.

Aunty Donna recently launched The Grouse House Podcast Network, a platform dedicated to championing Australian alternative comedy voices, and will expand further with the launch of its own streaming service on 2 April. The Grouse House Podcast Network now sits under Acast for the first time and includes Ratbag with Mel & Sam, The Mish & Zach Podcast and The Footy with Broden Kelly.

Aunty Donna said: “We’re incredibly chuffed to bring The Aunty Donna Podcast back home to Acast. Having The Grouse House Podcast Network together under the one roof just makes sense for us. It feels like the start of a new era – not just for the podcast, but for everything we’re building with Grouse House. We’re pumped.”
