World War II on the Air and in Print (old time radio and news)

A podcast from Henry Tchop

This page is looking at World War II through the eyes of the newspaper and pop culture. We are starting the timeline in September,1941 and plan on going to December 31, 1945. Each presentation will represent a date as we go in chronological order. Some dates might have over five hours of broadcasts while others will have an hour or less. There will not only be the classic radio entertainment programs, but we will also feature newscasts, commentary, special events, and even sportscasts when I can find them. This is a unique educational opportunity, and it is done in an entertaining fashion. You can take out a free one-week trial to one of our two tiers. If you find that this page doesn’t suit you, you can cancel before the week is out for no charge. Our $2 tier gets you all of our radio posts as we go day by day through the war. Our $5 premium tier features a daily newspaper for the World War II date spotlighted on the radio. It is an extensive look that includes not only news of the war, but national and local news plus sports, maps, ads, editorials, and generally anything that was in the paper that I can cram into the space allotted by Patreon. Also, in this tier you will find movies (presented to correspond with the newspaper and radio programs), documentaries, and veteran interviews. #worldwar2 #oldtimeradio #asithappened #livinghistory #1940s #20thcentury #vintagenewspaper #bigband #classicmovie #worldwarii #worldwartwo
