A true crime and history podcast from Penny Dearmin

In season two, we bring you coverage from the State of Georgia v. Marcus Lillard trial. He is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter, and reckless conduct.

From opening arguments to closing statements, the State contends that Marcus Lillard had a history of strangling women during sex and did strangle his girlfriend Marianne Shockley on Mother’s Day 2019, causing her death. They further argue that his conduct was reckless by not calling 911 for nearly two hours.

The defense purports that there is no evidence that sex took place that night, and if it did, there is no evidence that it was caused by Marcus Lillard. Hear all of the evidence and testimony from the trial and decide for yourself if Marcus Lillard is guilty or not guilty.

Your device’s IP address and user agent is used to help calculate this figure. Libsyn and Podtrac are IAB v2 certified. Here is more detail about podcast statistics.

Tracking and attribution: Podscribe or its partners may connect the fact you listened to this podcast to an action elsewhere on the internet. For example - it may spot a device that downloaded an episode of Blood Town later visited the website of an advertiser; or it may track that a device that listened to Blood Town also listened to a different show. This form of attribution is used to measure advertising effectiveness.

Dynamic content insertion: Libsyn may use limited data that they know about you - the device you’re using, the approximate location you’re in, or other data that can be derived from this, like the current weather forecast for your area - to change parts of the audio. Blood Town may do this for advertising or for other forms of content, like news stories.

Blood Town is able to use the above tools since its podcast host or measurement company offers this service. It doesn’t mean that this individual podcast uses them, or has access to this functionality. We use open data.
