A true crime podcast from Murder in Alliance

On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. David was eventually tried, convicted, and sentenced to life without parole for the murder of Yvonne. But the entire investigation may have been botched, or even worse, covered up. Now, after 22 years journalist Maggie Freleng investigates Yvonne’s murder alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three) and his organization Proclaim Justice. Is David actually innocent? And if so, who did kill Yvonne Layne?

This podcast may use tracking and attribution and dynamic content insertion

Stats: Statistics are produced by Audioboom, Chartable, Podsights and Podtrac to help Murder In Alliance to understand how many downloads it is getting, or how many people are listening. Your device’s IP address and user agent is used to help calculate this figure. Podtrac is IAB v2 certified. Here is more detail about podcast statistics.

Tracking and attribution: Chartable and Podsights or their partners may connect the fact you listened to this podcast to an action elsewhere on the internet. For example - they may spot a device that downloaded an episode of Murder In Alliance later visited the website of an advertiser; or they may track that a device that listened to Murder In Alliance also listened to a different show. This form of attribution is used to measure advertising effectiveness.

Dynamic content insertion: Audioboom may use limited data that they know about you - the device you’re using, the approximate location you’re in, or other data that can be derived from this, like the current weather forecast for your area - to change parts of the audio. Murder In Alliance may do this for advertising or for other forms of content, like news stories.

Murder In Alliance is able to use the above tools since its podcast host or measurement company offers this service. It doesn’t mean that this individual podcast uses them, or has access to this functionality. We use open data.
