Jutlandia - Kaldet til slaget
Det var i 1949 eller…rettere: helt præcist den 10. marts 1951 for 70 år siden, at Røde Kors’ hospitalsskib Jutlandia lagde til kaj ved den sydkoreanske havneby Pusan. Landet var i blodig krig. For at bidrage til den amerikanskledede FN-mission, der skal stoppe den røde hær fra nord, sender Danmark hospitalsskibet til Korea. Og beder upartiske Røde Kors om at styre skibet og operationen for at bevare Danmarks neutralitet i konflikten mellem stormagterne. Ombord er den kun 20-årige Bent Boisen. Udsendelsen med Jutlandia får afgørende betydning for ildsjælen Bents liv og har præget Bents familie frem til i dag, hvor Jutlandia er blevet et folkeeje med Kim Larsens sang fra 1986. Og nødhjælpsoperationen på den anden side af jorden, står i dag som et funklende ikon for Røde Kors’ såvel som Danmarks internationale hjælpearbejde.
