Between the Devil is a supernatural swashbuckling adventure podcast and audio drama — produced with immersive, cinematic sound design that puts you inside a 17th century sailing ship — following an eleven-year-old girl who stows away on her father’s cursed vessel and discovers she is the only one who can hear the ghost living inside it.
Francisco is a merchant who has just made the worst purchase of his life: a cursed ship with an octopus figurehead, mysterious carvings below deck, and a drunken former Royal Navy captain at the helm. His plan is to sail it to exotic markets and return with a fortune in spices. What he does not know is that his daughter Sammy has hidden herself in the cargo hold.
Once discovered — too far out to turn back — Sammy quickly proves to be the most capable person aboard. She uncovers a mutiny before it happens. She discovers a ghost boy named Finnick living in the ship’s closet, who speaks only to her. She navigates a secret pirate island that does not appear on any map. And in the swamps outside that island, she is taken to a swamp witch — and the secret at the heart of the cursed ship begins to reveal itself.
