Overall
Wondery seeks to engage a Los Angeles based Producer for a weekly talk video podcast that centers around black culture and pop culture. This role will collaborate with an external and internal content team. If you’re a leader and a team player with strong story-telling and interview skills, and experience with video production, we want to hear from you.
Compensation and Structure
This is a 1099 independent contractor position, with an anticipated start date ASAP. Estimated compensation for this position ranges from $1,900 to $2,100 per episode. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and skillset. This position does not provide benefits.
Key Job Responsibilities
Pre- Production:
- Ideate and support creative development, including segment ideas, guest spots, and additional creative
- Create and get Host and Wondery network exec approvals on outline, segments, and interview questions for each episode
Production/Set Design:
- At Wondery’s request, oversee the construction and installation of set elements, ensuring adherence to the approved design and timeline.
On Set:
- Prepare and send all runs of show
- On shoot day, prep Host by walking through ROS before recording begins
- Oversee and document on set continuity
- Work closely with Talent to direct recording sessions with an eye for video and ear for audio, and ask for necessary pick-ups
- Responsible for taking notes on set to highlight specific cuts needed for PR and Marketing shares.
- Take direction from Wondery network execs, and relay messages if needed to talent.
- Record full episodes, marketing copy, ad sales copy, and social copy
- Post-Production
- Give notes on V2 of all episodes, ensuring proper framing, structure, and tone for all episodes
Ongoing:
- Attend check-in meetings as needed
