A project or contract position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at Voxtopica.
Salary range: $75.00 to $125.00 (hourly rate) - subject to experience
Position Overview The Producer leads podcast and project teams, ensuring content and deliverables meet Voxtopica's quality standards and align with client goals. The Producer also serves as a client manager and the client's primary point of contact with Voxtopica.
Skills & Qualifications The Producer must be highly organized and efficient and possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and management skills. The role requires leading teams that utilize rapidly evolving technologies and applications while following precise instructions and processes and managing client and stakeholder relationships.
The primary qualification is four or more years of writing or producing experience in a creative media or news environment. Experience with podcasts or other audio and video content required.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management Manage the client relationship and serve as their primary point of contact with Voxtopica. Provide strategic and tactical guidance for clients and their projects. Ensure that clients observe project timelines, deadlines, processes, and procedures. Ensure that client requests, edits, and feedback are incorporated into projects.
Team Management Assign specific tasks and projects to the Project Team (Podcast Coordinator, Assistant Producer, Engineer, others as appropriate). Provide guidance and leadership to maximize the team's productivity, creativity, efficiency, and job satisfaction. Identify challenges and obstacles to team performance and project success and bring to the attention of the appropriate leadership.
Pre-production Assign research topics, guest outreach, and other aspects of projects to appropriate team members. Review, edit, and approve documents and memos for hosts, guests, and other stakeholders. Work with the Podcast Coordinator and Assistant Producer to ensure all stakeholders are prepared for recording sessions and other pre-production events and actions.
Production Participate in and provide direction during recording sessions. Proactively review production timelines and schedules to ensure seamless execution and avoid conflicts. Provide feedback and edits to audio, video, graphics, and copy and ensure the products are delivered on time. Oversee client communications during production cycles to deliver content, revisions, quality assurance, and other requirements as specified for a project. Oversee internal production cycles within Voxtopica's project management system and ensure all details are current and accurate. Ensure that team members manage documents, video and audio files, and other assets according to Voxtopica's production processes and procedures. Maintain consistent, timely communications with the entire production team.
Post-production Review, edit, and approve graphics and copy to support podcasts, episodes, and other projects. Ensure all promotional assets and other project support are delivered to clients and stakeholders.
Strategic Direction & Performance Analysis Provide clients with regular project performance reviews and metrics analysis. Collaborate with the Head of Production and Head of Creation to refine strategy
Meetings & Collaboration Attend 2-3 weekly Voxtopica company meetings Attend 1-2 weekly project-specific meetings per project.
