Social Media Manager
A part time position at Treat Media, Los Angeles CA, USA
Social Media Manager We Can Do Hard Things and New Major Women’s Sports Show Part-Time | In-Person & Remote (Los Angeles) | Start Date: ASAP
We’re looking for a highly creative, culturally fluent Social Media Manager to lead strategy and execution across two major video and audio podcasts:
-
We Can Do Hard Things, the award-winning, chart-topping podcast hosted by Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, and Amanda Doyle. It is one of the most beloved and top-performing podcasts in the world, with more than a half a billion plays since it launched as the #1 podcast on Apple.
-
A bold new women’s sports podcast hosted by Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy - forever teammates, beloved soccer legends, and loyal friends. It is a smart, joyful, high-energy celebration of the power and community of women’s sports, launching in September with two episodes per week - and featuring the iconic Billie Jean King as a regular contributor.
Across both shows, you’ll lead the entire social workflow - from content planning and ideation to execution, optimization, and growth. You’ll work closely with hosts, producers, editors, and platform partners to craft and distribute scroll-stopping social content that reflects the unique spirit of each show and connects deeply with their communities.
This role requires a mix of creative vision, digital fluency, and production savvy - someone who can spot cultural moments and emerging trends before they break, and use that foresight to craft content strategies that feel relevant, resonant, and deeply aligned with each show's voice and mission.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead Social Strategy Across Brands:
- Develop and own social strategy for each show across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, BlueSky, and other relevant platforms
- Ensure each brand has a distinct and consistent voice, tone, and content rhythm
- Track performance and audience engagement to continually refine approach
Ideate & Create Content:
- Work closely with hosts and producers to create short-form content that blends episode highlights with trending topics - always staying true to the show’s voice and optimized for platform performance
- Pitch ideas proactively, stay culturally plugged in, and bring sharp creative instincts and energy to every post
- Liaise with each show’s producers and select promos from finalized episode, built for different channels
Shoot, Edit, and Package Assets:
- Be hands-on in filming content (on-site at recordings)
- Edit and package clips and reels using best practices for each platform
- Generate graphics, quote cards, and other assets as needed
Coordinate Across Teams:
- Liaise with producers and post-production teams to get footage and creative assets
- Make sure talent receives everything they need for approval and personal posting (if hosts choose to post independently)
- Develop, maintain and manage content calendars and rollout plans
Own the Posting Process:
- Publish all social content across platforms
- Write engaging social copy, tag collaborators, and manage posting schedules
- Monitor engagement, run analytics, and adjust based on performance and learnings
Requirements:
- 3+ years managing social media for talent-driven brands, podcasts, or entertainment properties
- Deep knowledge of We Can Do Hard Things to ensure social content reflects the heart, humor, and honesty that listeners have come to trust
- Strong understanding of the sports social landscape
- Deep platform fluency - you know what works (and what doesn’t) on each channel
- Experience working directly with talent and understanding how to create content that feels true to their voice
- Strong shooting and editing skills
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable juggling multiple brands
- Passion for culture, storytelling, and building meaningful connections with audiences
This is a creative, strategic, and highly collaborative role. If you live and breathe social, and you’re excited about shaping the digital presence of two major shows with devoted fanbases - we’d love to hear from you.
