Podcast AP / Researcher

Salary: up to $6,500 (monthly rate) - subject to experience

It has become a welcome respite for those seeking informed journalism, with intelligent discussion, and for those who are tired of getting their news through the fragmented soundbites of social media.
The Free Press is well-established in the podcast world, with high profile shows like The Witch Trials of JK Rowling and Honestly with Bari Weiss, and we are looking for Producers to work closely with the podcast team to help bring together compelling audio stories and shepherd through the next generation of Free Press podcasts.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with series Producer and greater podcast team to pitch ideas and assist in episode and story arcs
- Conduct research and outreach
- Pitch relevant guests and book interviews
- Support Producers and reporters to proactively provide additional research
- Prepare research briefs
- Fact check in collaboration with Producer and/or reporter
- Work with transcripts and assist with script preparation
- Support producer and post production with pulling together episode assemblies
- Assist with scheduling, coordination and help show producers meet deadlines
- Assist as needed across multiple series and wider podcast team
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Experience working on limited series and narrative driven shows
- Experience with the clearance process of archival footage
- Great working in a team and alone
- Experience with Descript and/or other DAWs
- Excellent communication skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and adapt to changing priorities.
