SpeakEasy Productions is looking for a U.S.-based Podcast Post-Production Specialist to work on interview-style podcasts (audio and video) for businesses across a range of industries: sales, economic development, HR, politics, and more.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. You will control your own schedule, tools, and methods for completing the work. Rate per episode will be discussed and agreed upon before work commences, based on experience level and scope of work.
You would handle approximately 1-2 episodes per week to start, with a 3-day turnaround. Recording dates are shared in advance so you're able to plan your workflow accordingly. Episodes vary in length by client and episode, typically 40-60 minutes.
Responsibilities:
-
Editing audio and video for podcasts and assembling each episode into a polished final product.
-
Selecting and editing short-form video clips and adding branded subtitles.
-
Writing episode titles, show notes, clip titles, and descriptions, and creating thumbnails that fit each client's voice and goals.
*P.S. You'll work from detailed notes and established standards for each show, with room to take on more creative input over time as you learn each client's strategy and voice.
Skills Required:
- Excellent at editing dialogue in audio and video formats, for example:
- Edit, mix, and master multi-track audio
- Removing distractions (loud breaths, mouth noises, background noises, etc.)
- Color grading to a consistent, natural look across multi-cam footage
- Syncing audio to video and maintaining sync throughout an edit
- Seamless cuts that keep the conversation flowing
- Adding b-roll, intros, outros, etc.
- Able to cut standalone short-form clips from long-form episodes, with a good eye for the moments worth pulling
- Experience adding branded subtitles to short-form clips
- Writing copy that captures a brand's voice and pulls the right audience in.
- Comfortable creating thumbnails and basic graphics for episodes
