Somethin’ Else creates award-winning radio, podcast, TV, social and online content for an extensive and growing range of brands and broadcasters. We produce radio programmes for the BBC, commercial radio, podcasts, and audiobooks for a large, global audience.
We have an opening for a film-loving, dynamic, and driven freelance Guest Booker to join our team to work on the UK’s biggest film programme, Kermode, and Mayo’s Film Review.
This role can largely be undertaken remotely, although some in-person work will be required such as press junkets. This role is approximately 14 hours/ 2 days across the week and suitable for someone with experience in the media industry at booker or assistant booker level. Experience of booking entertainment guests & overseeing junket interviews is essential, a working knowledge of the world of film publicity a real advantage as is some experience of audio production.
Responsibilities include:
- Placing bids for interviews with actors and directors to deliver the biggest and best film guests every week
- Diary management
- Talent handling
- Arranging and attending screenings
- Coordinating virtual recordings using Zoom, Riverside.fm or other software
- Attending in-person junkets when required
- Maintaining relationships with film distribution companies
- Contributing creative ideas to the programme
