Lead Research Analyst
A full time position
Fully remote: working with a Canada-based team at Signal Hill Insights.
Salary range: $70,000 to $90,000 (yearly rate) - subject to experience
Signal Hill Insights is looking for an experienced lead research analyst to lead, plan and execute survey-based research studies with media consumers, with a focus on brand lift studies for advertising and branded content in audio and video podcasts and digital media. This role plays a key function in the digital media ecosystem, demonstrating the value of digital media audiences and the return on millions of dollars of investment in podcast and digital media advertising for advertising and publisher stakeholders.
This is a fully remote position, open to candidates located in and eligible to work in Canada.
What you’ll do:
In this role you will be responsible for leading the successful execution of the highest quality, industry-leading research studies. Duties include:
- Serve as primary liaison to research study clients, effectively managing requirements, deliverables and client expectations with a sharp focus on client satisfaction and retention.
- Coordinate a project team of analysts in executing key research functions, including drafting survey questionnaires, survey programming, data cleaning, QA processes, data analysis, media editing and findings reporting.
- As needed, as a member of the research team, execute these same key research functions.
- Field management, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including panel vendors and client partners.
- Write and edit findings reports in PowerPoint format.
- Create projects and update tasks and timelines in our project management platform.
- Track workflows and data quality trends, providing feedback and recommendations for optimizations to senior leadership.
- Document workflows and contribute to the development of training materials.
- Stay abreast of news and trends in podcast, media and market research industries.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of four years experience conducting survey or public opinion polling research.
- Demonstrated success coordinating team research projects.
- Familiarity with basic statistical concepts for survey research, including sample sizes and statistical significance.
- Skilled in data analysis methods in Microsoft Excel (e.g. statistical functions, pivot tables, etc).
- Able to create and edit charts in PowerPoint.
- Experience using the Google Workplace suite, including Google Docs and Sheets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Client-focused, can-do, problem-solving attitude.
- Enjoy finding the story in the data, and looking for insights that may lie beneath the surface.
- Be a self-starter and proactive, someone who is eager to move forward and always looking for optimizations.
- Organized, efficient, have an eye for detail, enjoy working on a team, and be focused on delivering high quality results and actionable insights to clients.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with podcasts and/or the podcasting industry
- Experience with statistical analysis in one of the following: SPSS, R, Python, DisplayR
- Data visualization skills
- Experience with online survey programming, especially Alchemer
- Experience using ClickUp
