Assistant to the Head of Audio

Salary: $59,000 (yearly rate) plus health benefits and 401k
ABOUT THE ROLE
Proximity Media is looking to hire an assistant to support its Head of Audio. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and proactive self-starter and team player who is passionate about podcasts and eager to support the Head of Audio in building an innovative audio division within a multimedia production company. This position is based in Los Angeles, California.

Proximity Media (Wakanda Forever: The Official Black Panther Podcast, Creed III, Judas and the Black Messiah) is a multimedia production company founded by Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian, with a mission to create event-driven feature films, television shows, soundtracks, and podcasts that bring audiences closer together through powerful stories about overlooked subjects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Executive assistance including scheduling and expenses
- Creating agendas and taking meeting notes
- Production assistance including coordinating assets and setting up recording equipment
- Generate and maintain lists and spreadsheets tracking talent, production needs, and events
- Review pitches and provide coverage and analysis
- Selecting and cutting audio clips for social media
- Coordinate department intern program
- Research and special projects
- File organization and equipment inventory
- Creative problem solving
- Book travel as needed
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Interest in training to become a podcast producer or executive
- Extremely passionate about podcasts and listens to them regularly
- Excited to learn about both creative and business aspects of the industry
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to be proactive and work under pressure
- Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to adapt quickly to new workflows
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to interact professionally with internal departments, external partners, talent representatives, and high-profile guests
- Experience as an executive assistant or PA in podcasting, entertainment, or a similar field/role
- Experience with ProTools, Excel, and audio recording equipment (or eager to learn fast)
- Photo/video editing experience is a plus
