A full time position at Prison Radio Association, London, UK
Salary: £38,000 (yearly rate)
A rare opportunity has arisen to join our prison radio project at HMP Brixton, the beating heart of National Prison Radio.
We’re the charity that developed and runs National Prison Radio, the world’s first national radio station for people in prison.
Last year we won the Rose D’Or, were named Production Company of the Year at the Audio Production Awards, and Best Network at the British Podcast Awards.
We run the groundbreaking podcast for people who have left prison, called Life After Prison, as well as the smash hit Secret Life of Prisons podcast.
We’re looking for a Radio Producer to join our team at HMP Brixton. Working alongside men serving prison sentences, you’ll be part of a small, high-performing staff team – making life-changing programmes for broadcast into prison cells across the country on National Prison Radio.
Ours is an organisation unlike any other, and we’re particularly interested in hearing from people who have the required skills and have lived experience of the criminal justice system.
We’re looking for a technically proficient audio professional with a proven track record in producing and editing high-quality music programmes. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of music across multiple genres and sound editorial judgement. This is not an entry level role, but would suit someone early on in their career who is looking for their next challenge and wants to make radio in an environment like no other.
We’re a driven, tight-knit team working in what can be a challenging, exhilarating world, and you will be motivated by the knowledge that your work has the potential to make a real difference.
This is a London based role and you must live within commuting distance from HMP Brixton. Occasional travel to other prisons across the country may be required.
Please mention podnews.net in your application.
