Podcast Visual Designer
A part time Cover Art Designer position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at PodLaunch.
100% Remote: Work from anywhere • Independent Contractor • Working with a USA-based team at PodLaunch®
PodLaunch® is seeking a part-time Podcast Brand & Graphic Designer to create custom podcast visuals, cover art, and YouTube thumbnails for our clients.
As the leading psychology-driven podcast strategy company for serious podcasters, PodLaunch® has developed a proven system for building shows that listeners trust, remember, and recommend. We’re recognized for applying the science of human behavior to podcast strategy and helping podcasters create bingeable shows that drive measurable ROI. Cover art and thumbnails are a critical part of this process, and we’re looking for a digital designer who can blend strategy with creativity to produce visuals that stop the scroll and command attention in a crowded feed.
About the Role This role is ideal for a designer who loves:
- Bringing strong creative concepts to the table and stretching your skills with each project
- Refining designs through collaboration and feedback (without getting annoyed when clients are picky — because you get it, this is their baby)
- Learning and applying a proven, psychology-driven design methodology
- Seeing your work showcased on major platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube, where thousands of people will interact with it every day
Your Responsibilities
- Apply PodLaunch®’s design standards and your creative perspective to craft cover art and thumbnails that align with client brands and feel cohesive across assets.
- Communicate directly with clients to understand their vision and guide them through the design process.
- Collaborate closely with the PodLaunch® team by keeping communication open, responding promptly, and ensuring timelines and feedback are clear and on track.
- Deliver projects on or before deadline by managing your time so that initial concepts and all revisions are completed within the agreed timeline.
- Prepare polished, platform-ready files that meet all technical specs.
- Organize and deliver final files in the shared drive so the team has easy access.
Requirements
- Strong portfolio: Show that you can bring titles to life visually with work that is bold, clear, and easy to read even at small sizes. Podcast-specific work is preferred but not required if your portfolio demonstrates this ability.
- Design skills: Use of thoughtful typography, clear hierarchy, and intentional use of color, layout, and composition to create cohesive, memorable visuals aligned with a brand’s identity.
- Experience: Have at least 2 years of professional design work in agency, freelance, or in-house settings.
- Technical proficiency: Proficient with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or equivalent tools.
- Collaboration skills: Comfortable communicating directly with clients, accepting and implementing feedback without ego, and working collaboratively with a team.
- Reliability: Strong communication and time management; you respect deadlines, provide proactive updates, and deliver on time.
- Timezone: must be based in an American or European timezone for collaboration and client communication.
This Role is Not a Fit If…
- You find detailed client feedback frustrating or discouraging.
- You miss deadlines or fail to communicate if something might delay your work.
- You prefer to work alone and avoid collaboration with clients or the team.
What We Value
- Communication & Collaboration: clear, transparent, and client-focused
- Excellence in Craft: attention to detail and pride in going above and beyond
- Growth Mindset: initiative, personal growth, and willingness to learn
Working With Us
- Compensation will be discussed during the application process and based on experience, portfolio strength, and role scope
- Independent contractor role with your own technical setup required
- Part-time to start with a 30-day probationary period to ensure mutual fit, with potential to grow into full-time as our client roster expands
- 100% remote within American or European timezones
- Team connection through weekly async accountability check-ins and occasional one-to-one calls
- Growth opportunities to take on additional projects such as thumbnails, social graphics, and branding assets as PodLaunch® continues to grow
