Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic Executive Podcast Producer with 3+ years of experience in podcast production. In this role, you will be responsible for the creative direction and production of multiple podcasts across a variety of genres.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Producing
- Serve as the primary Pionaire representative for the shows they Executive Produce on all matters; internally and externally.
- Develop strong and positive relationships with hosts and advocate for their needs.
- Work with talent to co-create a strong creative vision for the show including tone, creative direction, and brand voice.
- Consistently pitch fresh content ideas for every episode of every show. -Establish successful workflow, deadlines and production schedule with talent and production staff.
- Oversee all aspects of episode planning and co-create engaging segments to maintain audience engagement.
- Ensure episodes meet editorial standards, legal/ethical guidelines, and brand voice.
- Sign off on final edits, mixes, and episode assets before talent final approval.
- Work with department heads on marketing and production budget and spending.
- Collaborate on marketing strategy including launch plans, branding, promotional campaigns, cross-promotions, and audience development to help the show stand out from its competition in the marketplace.
- Have a deep understanding of show analytics to set growth, programming and marketing goals.
- Identify social trends and proactively co-create promo content that will stand out on social media.
- Communicate and direct editors on all notes from initial edit to final cut of all content.
- Sign off on final edits of all video, audio and social content.
- Mentor associate producers and provide help to other staff members when needed.
- Ideate on content and co-present material for Production Workshops.
- Present status updates and check in on outstanding items in staff meetings.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and bring fresh ideas to the team.
Producing
- Direct talent to ensure best performance.
- Name episodes and write SEO-optimized descriptions.
- Coordinate with talent and guests for recording sessions, including scheduling, pre-interviews, and technical troubleshooting. Send pre-recording best practices to guests and deliver social media promos to Pionaire talent and guests for promotion.
- Develop episode outlines, segment breakdowns, and content flow documents.
- Set up and manage remote and/or on-site recording sessions, ensuring optimal audio and video quality.
- Take notes during recording and discuss notes after.
- Assist with Premium content creation and management as needed.
- Assist with live tour as needed.
- Maintain archive of top segments and moments for future use.
- Plan ahead with talent for vacations/travel.
Editing
- Basic familiarity with video and audio editing in Adobe Premiere.
- Basic familiarity with Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
Additional Duties
- Collaborate with management on special projects as needed.
- Participate in Producer Workshops and staff meetings.
- Keep up to date with industry trends.
- Look for opportunities to incorporate new technologies into Pionaire offerings.
- All other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in podcast production.
- Familiarity with podcast distribution platforms (e.g., ACast, or similar) and social media content creation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Passion for podcasts and storytelling, with a keen interest in staying current with industry trends.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and a collaborative mindset.
