Persephonica is looking for a commercial leader to drive revenue across some of the UK’s most successful podcast brands, working with the country’s highest-profile talent. This is a rare opportunity to lead commercial sales across our shows and their wider digital presence, including YouTube and social media. The role spans traditional podcast sponsorship and advertising, as well as newer opportunities in branded content, video integrations and platform monetisation across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and beyond.
The Role
This is a new role, so you'll be shaping how we approach commercial sales across the business, not following an existing playbook. It will suit someone who is genuinely energised by building something from scratch rather than managing an inherited pipeline. The ambition is for the successful candidate to help us build out our sales operation over the next 12 months.
What you'll do:
- Take ownership of commercial revenue across our shows, from podcast sponsorship and advertising through to YouTube and social opportunities.
- Build a pipeline of both direct clients and agency relationships, and manage it end to end.
- Build relationships with brands, agencies and platforms to unlock new revenue streams as our content and audience grow.
- Identify and pitch a range of commercial opportunities - sponsored segments, branded content, video integrations, talent-led campaigns - tailored to our shows and audiences.
- Report on pipeline, maintain a forecast, and track performance to establish a feedback loop between the commercial team and the rest of the business.
- Work closely with our production and creative teams to make sure commercial opportunities are a genuinely good fit for our content, not bolted on.
- Keep on top of how brands are using podcasts, video and social content, and bring that insight back into how we pitch and package our shows.
What you'll bring:
- At least five years' experience in media sales, ideally spanning podcast, digital or social advertising.
- Solid understanding of how brands buy podcast advertising and/or how platforms like YouTube and TikTok work commercially.
- Confidence prospecting and opening new business conversations, not just managing existing relationships.
- Experience running a sales process end to end - from first conversation to negotiation and close.
- Strong pitching and relationship-building skills.
- Genuine interest in podcasts and digital content, and how audiences engage across formats.
- Comfortable working independently and building something new, given we're a small team without an existing sales function.

- Existing relationships with brands, agencies or platform partners.
- Experience selling podcast advertising, branded content or social-first campaigns.
- A real point of view on where podcast and digital content is heading commercially.
