Contract Sales Consultant position (commission-based)
Now! Media is a female-Latinx owned company that produces three podcasts, has a robust social media following and has a significant broadcast component. Our content targets women 35+, who are interested in an escape from news and current events and want to engage around different and lighter topics. We want to expand our sponsorship and advertising program and are looking for someone with experience selling podcast ads and promotional sponsorships.
We are looking for: A US-based independent contractor to sell podcast sponsorships and advertising for our audio programming. This is a remote commission-based role working with our US-based team. You will be responsible for identifying potential advertisers, making introductions, pitching the shows, negotiating terms, and closing sponsorship agreements.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential advertisers and sponsorship partners
- Build and manage a sales pipeline
- Develop and execute an outreach program, including but not limited to messages, pitches, and media kits
- Communicate the value of our engaged active adult female audience
- Negotiate deliverables, rates, and contract terms
- Close deals and maintain ongoing relationships with sponsors
- Provide regular updates on outreach, leads, and active negotiations
- Work with stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the promotion/advertising is delivered as promised and on time
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Proven success in advertising sales, podcast sponsorship sales, media sales, or related work
- Understanding of non-spot advertising, including contesting, on-site, virtual events, and email marketing.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to synthesize and present complex multi-media packages to prospects and clients
- Understanding of podcast advertising formats (host read, dynamic insertion, brand partnerships)
- Basic understanding of broadcast audio
- Ability to work independently and manage a sales pipeline
- Existing industry contacts are an asset
- Comfortable working on commission with no base salary
This is a commission-based position. You will earn a generous percentage of all sponsorship and advertising revenue you generate. Commission rate is negotiable based on experience and scope.
