The Opportunity: We’re looking for a full-time social media guru with video editing skills to create engaging social content for our in-house original network, Nova Podcasts.
Someone who lives and breathes social, a driven self-starter who knows how to generate creative and engaging content across all social platforms designed to bring more listeners to our podcasts.
Working with the video team and podcast producers you’ll ideate, create and schedule social posts that spreads the word about our Nova Podcasts and makes people want to listen.
This will include scheduling daily social video and images across multiple platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter.
The key to success in this role is the deep understanding of online audiences, a love of social statistics and a creative eye for shareable and engaging social content that will encourage podcast listening.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- The ability to brainstorm, create and amplify world-class social media content for new launches and existing podcasts that captures each podcast’s tone and appeals to their intended audience
- The ability to edit short form videos
- The proven ability to identify great content within a long form video or piece of audio and pick the right grab for social media
- The ability to create social media assets
- The ability to collaborate well with other creative departments to develop ideas for strong social content
- A high-quality writer, confident with grammar and headlines, able to write consistently good copy that captures the tone of our shows
- Knowledge of how to frame that ‘clickable moment’ using a headline or title that makes a captivating ‘sell’ in a social post caption
- A passion for engaging audiences through social media and understanding of the best way of approaching content decisions for each format
- Strong skills in image editing software like Adobe Photoshop, Canva and Premiere Pro
- Experience with Google Analytics, Facebook/Instagram Insights and other social analytics tools
- A drive to constantly innovate new ways to showcase our podcast content
- Ability to manage the podcast content calendar and juggle conflicting priorities
- A strong team player who also works well independently
WHO YOU ARE You’ll be a passionate content creator with previous experience in the fast-paced world of social.
To be successful in this role, ideally, you’ll have:
- At least three years’ experience producing content for social media and managing social media accounts
- Video editing experience
- Strong writing skills and the ability to tailor copy to a wide range of audiences
- Experience directing talent to get the best possible video content for social media
- A genuine love for podcasts and the world of audio
- Demonstrated skills in Photoshop, Canva, Premiere Pro, content management systems and social analytics platforms
- A passion for creating engaging, creative content and constantly innovating
