Social Media Manager
A project or contract position
Fully remote: working with a USA-based team at New York's #2 Sports Show.
Salary range: $1,500 to $2,000 (monthly rate) - subject to experience
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Social Media Manager to help grow the digital presence of New York’s #2 Sports Show (https://www.youtube.com/@nysports2).
This is not a beginner role; we’re looking for someone who understands sports media, short-form content, and how to build momentum across platforms.
About Us: We produce a fast-growing sports show focused on New York teams, with an emphasis on the Yankees, Giants, and Rangers. Our content blends analysis, personality, and opinions. We’re aiming to build a highly engaged fanbase and expand our reach across social platforms.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong understanding of New York sports (especially Yankees, Giants, and Rangers)
- Proven experience managing and growing social media accounts (please include examples)
- Deep familiarity with short-form content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts)
- Ability to identify compelling moments from long-form content and turn them into engaging clips
- Understanding of current social trends, hooks, captions, and posting strategies
- Someone who can bring ideas to the table, not just execute tasks
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a consistent posting strategy across platforms
- Create and/or repurpose short-form video content from podcast/show recordings
- Write captions, titles, and hooks optimized for engagement
- Stay on top of trending topics in NY sports and react quickly when relevant
- Collaborate with our team on content direction and growth strategy
- Track performance and adjust approach based on results
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with sports brands, podcasts, or media companies
- Experience working with editors
- Experience running paid social campaigns or boosting posts
Budget & Commitment:
- Budget: $1,500–$2,000/month
- Initial term: 3-month contract with potential to extend
- Expected workload: Ongoing monthly support (exact scope to be discussed)
