About Us
Message Heard is an award-winning podcast and new media company working with some of the world’s most ambitious brands and broadcasters. As a creative studio, utilising multi-disciplinary teams to deliver multi-platform content, we produce original IP and commissioned work that combines creative excellence with commercial impact - across audio, visual, and emerging technologies. Our clients include global platforms, broadcasters, and household brands.
We are currently seeking a full-time Podcast Producer to join on an initial three month contract.
The Role
We are looking for a Podcast Producer who has experience with narrative storytelling, particularly writing both long and short form scripts. Someone who has a keen eye, attention to detail, is aware of client/commissioner needs and production realities while delivering compelling narrative content.
You’ll help shape how stories are developed, structured, and told, working collaboratively with our in-house teams and external partners.
The Producer will also need excellent audio experience skills, not only in scripting but also in conducting interviews, recording (remote and on-location). Must have advanced skills in using Descript and Audition, plus keen eye for video and social content.
At Message Heard, producers sit at the creative heart of everything we do: they take concepts and turn them into distinctive programmes that resonate with audiences and deliver value for our partners.
This is a role for someone who can think both editorially and strategically, who understands the craft of podcasting but is excited by how it evolves - from immersive audio storytelling to video-first podcast formats and multiplatform adaptations.
Responsibilities
- Managing and supporting multiple live projects, keeping on top of time management and deliveries.
- Storyboarding, pulling tape and writing narrative episode scripts for long and short content which deliver on the show’s editorial brief.
- Recording interviews and content with full technical efficiency
- Develop, structure, and produce podcasts from concept through to final delivery.
- Shape storylines, manage editorial flow, and ensure clarity and quality across episodes.
- Identify stories and talent, and contribute to development and pitch materials.
- Produce across audio and video podcast formats, collaborating closely with creative and post teams.
- Manage production schedules, budgets, and delivery timelines to maintain creative and commercial excellence.
- Work with clients and collaborators to align editorial ambition with strategic goals.
- Support audience growth and show development through thoughtful production choices.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience producing podcasts or comparable longform narrative or factual content.
- Strong editorial instincts and a deep understanding of storytelling craft.
- Experience working across multiple formats - including video podcasting or hybrid production.
- Ability to take ideas from development to delivery with clarity and confidence.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset - able to work fluidly with internal teams, external talent, and clients.
- Creative curiosity and entrepreneurial energy: motivated by making work that cuts through.
